Chrissy began her journalism career in 1993, winning a nationwide competition against over 8,000 applicants to join the BBC’s flagship children’s magazine, Fast Forward. She quickly distinguished herself, writing weekly music reviews, conducting celebrity interviews, managing photo shoots, and engaging readers nationwide.

She then freelanced at Just Seventeen, one of the UK’s best-selling teen magazines, contributing movie reviews and celebrity-led features.

Chrissy’s talent was recognised by the Financial Times, where she was headhunted to join their subscription-based newsletters. Within three months, she was promoted from Editorial Assistant to Features Writer, producing in-depth articles on finance, telecommunications, stock markets, and global business.

Editorial Leadership

In the mid 90s, Chrissy became the youngest editor in Britain and oversaw multiple renowned publications simultaneously, leading Girl About Town (GAT), Nine to Five, and Hair & StyleNine to Five and GAT were high-circulation freebie magazines, reaching millions monthly across London, while Hair & Style was a nationally sold consumer title. She managed editorial teams of 20+ and directed content strategy across celebrity, lifestyle, wellness, beauty, and fashion coverage.

She was also headhunted to launch Total Style magazine, a consumer celebrity, hair, fashion, and beauty title for women 20–45. Chrissy named the magazine, built and led the editorial team, and secured celebrity cover interviews with Elizabeth Hurley and Madonna, immediately positioning it as a must-read for its audience.

Chrissy became a sought-after freelance journalist, contributing celebrity-focused content and interviews to major tabloid newspaper The Sunday People and its accompanying magazine supplement.
